Drum Lessons

My main instrument is actually classical percussion, and I am more than happy to take drum students of nearly any level. My drum lessons will bring a strong focus on stick control, rudiments, and snare drum technique, while developing four way coordination for the drumset. We will also work heavily on musical form, as it is critical for the drummer to have an awareness of where the music is heading at all times, and develop rhythmic sight reading as a means to this end.

Students who are involved in school music programs also may be interested to work on classical percussion, including orchestral snare drum and rudimental snare drumming, timpani, mallet percussion including marimba and vibraphone, and accessories such as tambourine, triangle, bass drum, crash cymbals, etc. However, it may be difficult for students to practice timpani at home!

I live in the East Village and can travel just about anywhere in the city. A few of the neighborhoods I am traveling to for Drum Lessons include:
New York, Manhattan, East Village, Lower East Side, Alphabet City, Greenwich Village, West Village, SoHo, Nolita, Chinatown, Tribeca, Stuyvesant Town, Gramercy Park, Murray Hill, Midtown East, Upper East Side, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown West, Upper West Side, Morningside Heights, Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Greenpoint.
